Mount Amiata

Mount Amiata Mount Amiata

Mount Amiata (1738 metres) is the only volcano in Tuscany. It has been extinct for 300.000 years. It’s unique outline is apparent and echanting even from far away. Half way between Siena and Grosseto and between Florence and Rome. Mount Amiata is not far from spas like Bagni San Filippo, Bagno Vignoni, San Cascian dei Bagni e Chianciano.

Its paths, that can be followed by foot or bike. It leads to the largest beech grove of Europe. Each season in Mount Amiata has its colours and its particularities: mushrooms, chestnuts and festivals in autum; torches, snow and skiing in winter; sun, spaas and medieval festivals in summer; trekking and mountain bikes all year round.
